PCC Metric Century Ride

Saturday, October 3, 2026 | A community-focused fall event for all skill levels.

The Metric Century is a safe, welcoming introduction to the Prairie Cycle Club. This non-competitive ride focuses on community, safety, and enjoyment. Enjoy quiet fall roads, Prairie Cycle Club hospitality, and a welcoming cycling community. Whether you’re trying your first organized ride or completing your first metric century, there’s a route for you.

10-Mile Beginner Ride 10:00 AM START

Fully led and educational. Ideal for those new to group cycling or families. No one is left behind.

LED GROUP RIDE
35-Mile Open Route 9:45 AM START

For independent riders comfortable with rural roads and a 10-13 mph pace. Includes one rest stop visit.

SELF-NAVIGATED
62-Mile Metric Century 8:00 AM START

For experienced riders capable of 4+ hours in the saddle at a 13-15 mph pace. Includes two rest stop visits.

Start/Finish Location Lakeview Shelter, Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve, Mahomet, IL
Check-In Opens at 7:45 AM. Arrive 15 mins before your route start.
Registration
This ride is included with Prairie Cycle Club membership. There is no separate ride registration or ride fee. Current members ride free. If you’re not a current member, simply join PCC using the button below to participate.

Ride Support
  • Staffed Rest Stop: Water, electrolytes, snacks, and restrooms. Closes at 1:00 PM.
  • SAG Support: Pickup available via cell phone for transport back to start. Service ends at 1:30 PM.
  • E-Bikes: Pedaled e-bikes welcome; must fit standard racks for SAG.
Post-Ride Social

Join us after the ride at a local restaurant for a casual gathering. Details provided at the event.

Important: Helmets are required. All routes use paved roads and bike paths. The ride will be cancelled in the event of rain.
