Prairie Cycle Club Ride with GPS

Ride Navigation for Supported Rides and Events

Prairie Cycle Club maintains a Ride with GPS (RWGPS) Club Account to provide turn-by-turn voice navigation for rides and events supported through the PCC route library. This includes official PCC rides and events, as well as selected member-organized and community rides whose routes are maintained in the club library.

If you're participating in one of these rides, you can create a free Ride with GPS account, join the PCC Ride with GPS group, and use turn-by-turn voice navigation. A paid Ride with GPS subscription is not required.

The PCC Club Account provides navigation only for routes in the PCC route library. It does not provide turn-by-turn navigation for routes in your personal Ride with GPS library or routes created by other Ride with GPS users unless those routes have been copied into the PCC route library by a PCC Route Manager.

Request a Route

Requesting routes to be added to the PCC route library is a Prairie Cycle Club member benefit. PCC members may request that a route be added to the club library for use with turn-by-turn navigation. Requests may include official club rides, club events, member-organized rides, community rides, and other rides that the member wishes to support through the PCC route library.

Routes may be requested from:

  • A member's personal Ride with GPS library
  • A publicly accessible Ride with GPS route created by another user

Route requests are reviewed by a PCC Route Manager before being added to the library. In general, routes should:

  • Support Prairie Cycle Club rides, events, member-organized rides, or community rides
  • Be useful to other cyclists
  • Be publicly accessible within Ride with GPS so they can be copied into the PCC route library
  • Meet reasonable standards for accuracy, completeness, and rider safety
  • Not unnecessarily duplicate an existing route in the PCC route library

To request a route, email pccboard@prairiecycleclub.org and include:

  • Your name
  • The email address associated with your Prairie Cycle Club membership (if different from the email you are sending from)
  • A link to the Ride with GPS route
  • The name or purpose of the ride (optional but helpful)
  • Any additional information that may help the Route Manager review your request
Note: Routes copied into the PCC route library become independent copies. Changes made later to the original route are not automatically reflected in the PCC route library. If the original route is updated, members may notify a PCC Route Manager so the library copy can be reviewed and, if appropriate, updated.
